Pendoley Environmental Consultancy, in partnership with Chevron, were tasked with investigating ways to track multiple tiny sea turtle hatchlings offshore at the same time.

Upon hearing about Wildlife Drones, they were excited to trial our technology in their project. With Wildlife Drones, they can track up to 40 tagged animals at the same time.

But because saltwater weakens the signal of radio-tags underwater, Pendoley had to develop a new tagging method. Their design used a float that would keep the tag encapsulated above water, while still allowing the turtle to swim freely.

This innovative trial was a great first step in improving how the movements of sea turtle hatchlings are monitored.
