Customer Tech Support

There’s nothing worse than being out in the field and encountering trouble. At Wildlife Drones, I’m the guy who clients call when they need help. No matter where you are in the world, I am here to help you wherever and whenever.

Phil is the Product Manager and Technical Support Lead at Wildlife Drones who is also a licenced drone pilot. With over 25 years of experience in private industry and government, he has worked in numerous technical, change and project management roles.

What do you do at Wildlife Drones?

As Product Manager, it’s my responsibility to understand the needs of customers and make sure our products meet and exceed their expectations. For me, it’s all about creating and sustaining a product that delivers the best user experience and provides increasing value over time.

What do you like most about working at Wildlife Drones and why?

I really enjoy the wide variety of of work on offer. On any given day I might be working be working closely with our tech team to deliver a new product feature, conducting a remote training session for a recent customer, or out at our test site putting a potential new drone platform through its paces.

What is your favourite project at Wildlife Drones and why?

I’d have to say the pangolin conservation work done in Vietnam by Saving Vietnam’s Wildlife. They’re protecting an amazing creature, and the harsh environment they operate in certainly tests the durability of our system!

If you could choose, what animal would you like to track?

My colleague Sebastian mentioned the dolphin, but I’ll be more specific – the Mekong River dolphin. It was amazing to see them on the Melong in Cambodia several years ago.

Your top 3 favourite Podcasts and Books?

I like a range of catch-up podcasts from RN (Radio National). ‘South’ by Ernest Shackelton and Lord of the Rings are my favourite reads.

What volunteering or passion projects do you do outside of work?

I’m a member of my local CFU (Community Fire Unit). Canberra is rather prone to bush/wildfires.
